Decisions

Life is frustrating at times and there are many decisions that a person must make. The hardest part about making a decisions is not knowing if you are making the right one or not. In the end our lives are built upon the decisions and paths that we decide to take. When do you know enough is enough and start living for yourself? How will you know if you made the right choice if you don't make the choice for yourself? You cannot be scared to do what is right, but that is just it, how do you know what is right?? Anyway, today is a stressful day and I wish that decisions were easy!!!

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; But often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

Time Flies

So we went to see Vanessa in her play tonight and all I keep thinking was "my gosh, my little girl is a junior in high school, where did the time go?" I can remember when Vanessa was a little baby and she fit in the forearm of her daddy. She was the most beautiful baby ever. Through her toddler years she was the best baby a young mother could ask for. I gave birth to Vanessa when I was 17 years old and I had no idea that sweet little girl would change my life forever!!! Children do not come out with a handbook attached and as parents we try our best to do what we think is the right thing. As time goes by, mistakes are made and we learn from those mistakes, but we can never get those years back. So the next time you tell your child good-night sit down and have a conversation with them and tell them how much they mean to you rather than telling them to get their book bags or shoes out of the living room. Let the mess sit for an extra day because when our children are all grown up and our house is spotless we will miss those moments that we shared with our children. Don't take advantage of the time we have today!!!! Good night all

Vanessa and Mario....I love you both for all the joy you bring in my life!!!!!

Hairspray Play

So I want to say to my daughter Vanessa how proud I am of her and how wonderful she was in her play last night. I really love my daughter and am proud of all that she does. I went to the opening night of her play last night and it was amazing. When my daughter is on the stage the whole stage lights up for me (such a mother thing to say, but true). She is so beautiful and I am excited for her and all that life has in store for her. I cannot wait til tonight because daddy, brother Mario, Aunt Michelle and her kids and of course myself will all be going to the show. I am excited for them all to see the show!!!! I am taking the camera to the show tonight so I can get pictures of Vanessa and some of the cast, so stayed tuned for that!!!!

We made it!!!!

So we made it to Vegas and Vanessa did too!!! I survived the dreaded flight and even though it was extremely long and my butt was asleep for most of the time, it was all worth it. My parents 50th anniversary party was absolutely wonderful. All my brothers and sisters were there with their many wonderful children all 32 grandchildren!!! That was an adventure:) I love them all, I really have a great family.

Tonight I took Vanessa to the airport because she could only stay for 1 day:( I am not as nervous about her flying this time, I think she likes the feeling of being an "adult" in her own little way. I pray she makes it home safely.

Good night...it is 2:16 in the morning and I am too old to be up this late so I will write some more about my great trip when I get safely home!!!!

Flying out tomorrow!!!!!

So tomorrow is the big day. Mario, Junior, and I are flying out to Vegas for my parents 50th anniversary!!! I am excited, nervous and stressed all at the same time. My head is killing me. I think I am most stressed about Vanessa having to fly out on her own Saturday, I am so nervous for her because she has a layover and she has never flown by herself. We will definitely be praying for her before we leave. She had to leave on Saturday because we were not sure if she had rehearsal tomorrow or not and of course she does not and she could have gone with us, so we are sad about that, but it is too late to change her flight.

I am very excited to see all my family...I have 5 brothers and 3 sisters and they will ALL be at the party!!!! This will be interesting:) This will be a quick weekend trip but it will be so worth it to see all my family and friends. Stay tuned for pictures and updates of the trip!!!!!

Honey's Basketball Tournament

My honey just came home and his team won the tournament!!!! He came home with a trophy and everything.....haha.....36 years old and he DUNKED!!!!!!!  He was like a little kid when he walked through that front door....sooo EXCITED for him...so bummed I wasn't there, but I have realized I cannot be in 2 places at once, as much as I would love to be able to do that I just can't!!!!

Basketball update

Sorry for the late update, but my honey lost on Thursday after a very impressive effort. They all played very well.

As for today, both my boys had tournaments, and of course I had to show support for my son. They played three games and won 1 and lost 2, but the boys they play are older then them so we don't feel too bad. They all played really good and to tell you the truth I do not understand how they can play three games all in one morning. I was tired just watching:)

My honey won his first game lost his second game and he is playing right now for best 2 out of 3. So I am waiting on the details of that game.

I came home from the game and Vanessa had already started cleaning the house so I didn't have much to do.....she is a doll!!!! I am blessed with the children I have.

So we are a less than a week to go to Vegas.....I am getting excited!!!!! I still feel like I have a ton of things to do before we leave, but I am so thankful that my brother in law is going to take care of my doggies...Thank you!!! So that is one less thing I have to worry about!!!!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!! Soon very soon I will post some pictures.......

Basketball....

Well tonight my husband, Mario, has a basketball game at 7:30 for our church league. This is the second round of play-offs, they won the first round and we will see tonight if they win again. Then tomorrow night my son, Mario Jr., starts a weekend tournament. He will play tomorrow night, two games on Saturday and the play-offs on Sunday. All the meanwhile, Vanessa has rehearsal tonight, tomorrow night, and possibly Saturday. I LOVE how they say possibly Saturday, so you cannot make any plans because of the possible rehearsal. Good thing my little girl drives and she can take herself to "rehearsal."

As for me, hopefully I can get some school work and housework done in the little spare time I will have this weekend. Do mommies ever have anytime for themselves? On the plus side, and I do not mean my pants size lol, we go to Las Vegas in 1 week from tomorrow, excited and nervous all at the same time. Oh yeah did I mention I do not like to fly?? I can do it, but I prefer not to. AND I hate packing for trips, I never know what to take with me and I always, always forget something!!!! Well I hope this rainy day Thursday moves along!!!
Loving Life!!!

American Idol

Okay well I was not too impressed with AI last night. Why are they letting the contestants have such broad categories anyway??? So the song choice for most of them was not the greatest, but here goes my judging skills.....

Contestant # 1- Ashthon Jones.....not a fan, did not like her song or outfit....sorry

Ashthon Jones

Contestant #2- Casey Abrams, a little different but overall he is okay so far, I haven't really decided one way or the other, but he is fun.

Casey Abrams

Contestant #3- Haley Reinhart, this little girl is cute as a button and has been one of my faves, but last night she did not pick the right song...hopefully we will see her next week and she can redeem herself:)

Haley Reinhart

Contestant #4- Jacob Lusk, I have not been a fan of this one, but I will admit he has a nice voice?? I did not like the song choic last night....also the contestants were to pick their idol and sing a song....who idols R-Kelly???? hmmmm???

Jacob Lusk

Contestant #5- James Durbin, he has been a fave of mine and I enjoyed his song last night, as long as he doesn't go over the top with his vocals he does good:)

James Durbin

Contestant #6- Karen Rodriguez, I really like her, but was not impressed with her vocals or outfit last night, but I think she will be back next week

Karen Rodriguez

Contestant #7- Lauren Alaina, this one has been my number 1 favorite since auditions, but I must say she was not on last night and I hope she can pull it together...

Lauren Alaina

Contestant #8- Naima Adedapo, she is my favorite wildcard pick, but OMG what did she do last night?? I am speechless....Rihanna, really??

Naima Adedapo

Contestant #9- Paul McDonald, he is quirky and I like it!!! Do not know if he will go all the way, but he is fun.

Paul McDonald

Contestant #10- Pia Toscano, this little pretty one is really a great singer and she happen to sing one of my favorite songs last night and she did awesome!!! She will go far in this competition.

Pia Toscano

Contestant #11- Scotty McCreery, do I even have to say anything about this little cutie pie....he is a born country singer, the only thing I would say is he needs to relax a little on stage and stop leaning to his right:) easy fix....he is leaning even in his picture..but we love him:)

Scotty McCreery

Contestant #12- Stefano Langone, well just like Jennifer Lopez, my daughter thinks this one is a cutie....I think he sing okay, but I will be surprised if he goes far...

Stefano Langone

Contestant #13- Thia Megia, she is so cute and has a beautiful voice, but she needs to loosen up on stage, I would like to see her have some fun

Thia Megia

Anyway overall last night was not the greatest, but one positive of my night is I found my camera adapter, so when I can convince my family to let me get some pictures  to post, I will be doing that soon.

Trying to get the hang of this:)

Okay so I am a new blogger and I have tons of things to talk about, but I am not sure if I want to blurt them all out at once or just a little at a time. So here is some more info for my blog:)

Did I mention that my parents have been married for almost 50 years? Yes 50 years, seems like a lifetime. Anyway their anniversary is this month on the 18th and my brothers, sisters, and I are preparing a big party for them in Las Vegas (where we lived for most of our lives and where most of my family lives). My husband and my children and I are flying out there on the 18th for the party on the 19th and I am super excited!!!! I haven't been to Vegas in about 3 years and I am looking forward to seeing my large family which consists of 5 brothers and 3 sisters and ALL their children!!!!! I will be posting pictures of the grand event when we get back, so check back for those!!!!

Another item of business on my list is finding my daughter a wig for her play!!!! I need to find a 60's style wig for the play "Hairspray" I do not know where to begin looking for that because honestly who wears a wig with the style from the 60's?? But anywoo...when I find one I will be sure to post a beautiful picture of my beautiful daughter:)

That is another item of business, note to self "find camera adapter so I can download my pictures".....it is in my house somewhere, but I do not know where!!!!!

One more note.....Don't forget to watch American Idol tonight because I will be posting my votes and favorites tomorrow!!!!!

Thank you Come Again!!!!!

A little about me........

So here I am, my name is Monica and I have been married for 17 years to my honey Mario Robinson. Over the years we have been blessed with 3 wonderful children.

Lashay is my daughter by another mother and she lives with her mother in Las Vegas, NV (where I met my husband).

Vanessa is our daughter and Mario Jr. is our son. Vanessa is our 16 year old actress, singer, dancer and Mario Jr. is our 12 year old athlete who plays football and basketball.

At the present time Vanessa is rehearsing for her school play "Hairspray" which runs at the end of March
and Junior is on a traveling basketball team "Fort Mill Trailblazers"

We are constantly on the go with our children and it keeps me desperately seeking sanity!!!!! Welcome to my world........
